The idea behind the Sculptor came to last January, when I was attending a colour choice workshop by Emily Foden. During the workshop, we got to walk around the neighbourhood to find colour inspiration. One picture that stuck for me was a one of a big granite block, half wet because of melting snow. That was the inspiration behind the colourblocks.

But that’s not the best part of the story! When I was trying to find a name for the sweater, I figured I would research some info about the statue which stood on top of the granite monument. Can you imagine my surprise when I realized it was from my great-granduncle, Alfred Laliberté! Alfred was my maternal grandmother’s uncle, and was a great Québec sculptor.
