Our friend Aleks Byrd is a knitwear designer and illustrator. When it comes to designing and illustrating knitwear, Aleks loves to work with many different strands. With a heritage tied to three countries – USA, Estonia and Canada – she has plenty of ideas and inspiration running through her, but tends to play with her Estonian roots in particular, weaving it into new patterns in order to produce modern and unique designs with a connection to the past.

Andrea Mowry is a work-at-home mama and knitwear designer who has a hard time ever putting down the needles. She loves all this amazing craft has to offer- from needles, fibers and patterns to the amazing community that holds it so dear.

Camilla Vad loves making designs that are both classic and classic with a twist. She loves this slow crafting and the idea of being able to create something with her own hands.

Jean-Philippe is a trained industrial designer and he learned to knit and crochet 10 years ago. His brand, Atelier Clichē, was born from the desire to create beautiful quality products, manufactured at a human pace. It didn’t take long for him to start designing patterns.

Joji Locatelli is a mom of two teenage sons, and a wife to a loving non-knitting husband. Her days go by dreaming of new knitting projects and traveling. Creating knitting patterns is her dream job.

Sasha Hyre is a Montreal-based knitwear designer and teacher. She is known for her versatile designs that combine colours and textures, and her work has been featured in several knitting magazines and books. Island Vibes is not only a celebration of her Jamaican heritage but also a tribute to the meditative and relaxing power of knitting.

Stephen West’s prolific shawl designs and innovative use of color have made him an internationally recognized designer. Stephen was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma; moved to Chicago, Illinois for school, and later moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands, to study choreography. Stephen's designs have been knitted by thousands of knitters all around the world. He currently lives in Amsterdam where he co-owns Stephen & Penelope, a yarn boutique in the city center.
