Vaheldus is a sock pattern designed by Aleks Byrd that uses the traditional Estonian inlay technique called roosimine (also can be called roositud). It is a great beginner’s roosimine knitting project as well as a perfect sock pattern for using mini skeins and leftover sock yarn. Have fun knitting this simple modern geometric roosimine pattern inspired by traditional roosimine socks from Estonia.

This sock is knit cuff down with a simple geometric roosimine pattern that can be knit with either one or two contrast colours - a great way to use mini skeins or small sock yarn leftovers. The roosimine goes down the outside of each leg so there is a distinct right and left sock inspired by traditional Estonian roosimine socks.

Video tutorial links for roosimine are included in the pattern.

The kit contains the following colourways in the required quantities on BFL Sock from Les Garçons. It is enough yarn to either knit the Vaheldus or the Habemik patterns. The patterns are not included; Vaheldus is available on Ravelry and Habemik is available in 52 Weeks of Socks, vol. 2.
