Kohin

Kohin, by designer Aleks Byrd, is inspired by the rhythmic movement of water: the name translates from Estonian to the rushing sound of a stream or waterfall. This triangular scarf is a stunning exploration of texture and innovative construction: it takes shape by first knitting a DK-weight body from tip to tip, incorporating specific purl ridges that serve as anchors for the lace panel. A lace-weight panel is then worked flat and joined to these ridges on every right-side row, finishing with a grafted edge at the opposite tip.

Whether you choose high-contrast colours to highlight the geometry or tonal shades for a subtle, shimmering effect, this pattern invites you to play with transparency and depth.
