The Beauceron (by Vincent Deslandes)

$10.00

This pattern is available in English and in French as a digital download. Upon checkout, you will automatically receive a link to download a PDF file.

Laurian was my mother’s father. He was a proud Beauceron, i.e. an inhabitant of the Beauce region in Quebec, Canada. Laurian is also the name that Amélie from Émilia & Philomène gave the gray colourway I used to design this sweater. A gray that reminded me of the many suits I’ve seen my grandfather wear.

The Beauceron is a unisex pullover sweater with a slip-stitch colourwork pattern (also called “mosaic colourwork”) that is easy and addictive to knit. It worked from the top down in one piece, without seams, but features “faux” seams on the shoulders and sides that give it a nice detail.
